Interested in joining Civil Air Patrol?

While we welcome pilots, you don’t have to be a pilot to join. CAP offers many avenues of volunteer service, including emergency services, training and mentoring for cadets, and aerospace education. We also need volunteers for community outreach, media relations and administrative responsibilities.

You must be at least 18 to join CAP as an adult member. For the protection of our cadets, prospective members must undergo a fingerprint screening before being allowed to join

If you’re interested in joining CAP’s cadet program, you must be between 12 and 21 years old. You can get a good idea of what cadet membership is all about by visiting the cadet or composite (cadets and adults) squadrons in your area.
